An Electric Vehicle (EV) is essentially an automatic vehicle with an electric motor powering it. A fully Electric Vehicle does not run on or have a petrol or diesel engine. Electric Vehicles (EVs) have a battery instead of a gasoline tank, and an electric motor instead of an internal combustion engine. The Electric Vehicle has one moving part, the motor, whereas the gasoline-powered vehicle has hundreds of moving parts.
Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs)
Powered solely by an electric battery, with no gas engine parts. Most EVs are capable of fast charging and L2 charging. They have Zero emissions. EVs don’t run on gasoline or use internal combustion engines. Instead, Electric Vehicles run solely on battery power. Drivers can charge them at home using Level 1 and Level 2 EV chargers, and at commercial charging stations with Level 3 chargers.
